What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a practice with the goal of helping the body to function optimally without the need for medication or surgeries. Chiropractors use hands-on spinal adjustments to restore proper alignment and motion of the spine which helps the entire nervous and musculoskeletal system. Chiropractic is commonly used as relief for back pain, muscle pain, joint pain, and much more. Chiropractic care is also commonly utilized in order to prevent any issues from occurring in the first place. As always, a Chiropractor will ask about your health history before proceeding with care.

What is Massage Therapy?

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including, muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Massage Therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions. Our therapists are highly trained in the anatomy of the body and have a very good understanding of the musculoskeletal system. Therefore, they work with hands-on therapeutic and rehabilitatve techniques to address conditions that are soft tissue in nature. This promotes optimal healing and recovery for patients.
At Align we offer five different lengths of massages (15, 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes).

At Align, we are a chiropractic and massage therapy clinic aimed at helping our patients to achieve their optimal health.

We accomplish this by making sure that their nervous and musculoskeletal system are functioning optimally.
Our Mission is to help each and every one of our patients to move, feel, and heal better through chiropractic care and massage therapy.

Neothermal Scan

The Thermal Scanner will measure the temperature on each side of your spine. Your skin temperature is controlled by the autonomic nervous system which is that part of the nervous system that you don’t have to think about. Such as heart rate, breathing, all organ function, and much more. Studies at Johns Hopkins University show that the body temperature on the left and right sides of your spine should be the same. A difference of body temperature on the right or left sides of your spine indicates stress on your autonomic nerves (Subluxation). The test enables us to determine what organs may be affected and the severity of the stress.

What is Shockwave Therapy?

  • Extracorporeal Radial Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive therapeutic treatment used as an alternative option for patients who have common musculoskeletal and chronic disorders.
  • The frequent short waves of energy that are generated by the shockwave machine are sent to the soft tissues in the injured areas of the body. It not only increases a patient's pain tolerance but also stimulates their body’s natural healing process. A higher application of this energy will improve mobility and help reduce pain and discomfort for them.
  • Shockwave therapy can significantly reduce the pain from tendinopathies and improve the quality of living for a patient.

What is the Timeframe for Shockwave Therapy to Work?

With shockwave therapy, it mostly depends on the condition you are treated for. In some cases, patients might experience instant relief from their pain, whilesome patients might need 2-3 rounds of therapy for a few weeks to notice the results. The results also depend on the severity of the injury and the patient'sresponse to the treatment.

Does Shockwave Therapy Have Long-Lasting Results?

  • Patients will ask questions like, “How long does shockwave therapy lastfor?” Initially, they might experience immediate relief but, the results sometimes can bedelayed to days after the treatment.
  • The results of shockwave therapy are long-lasting. Patients may experience apain reduction that may exist for months to even a year. This timeframe againdepends on the response of the patient’s body.
An average session goes on for 20 minutes and some patients experience immediate relief in pain post-therapy.

What is the Procedure for Shockwave Treatment?

  • At first, one of our team members (chiropractor or massage therapist) will consult with you about your problems and symptoms. Then you will be examined to further determine whether you are suitable for the treatment or not.
  • If treatment is recommended for you the therapist will then conduct the treatment which takes about 15-20 minutes to perform.
  • Next, you may experience mild discomfort when the shockwave is used, but it will fade away quickly. After the treatment, you can notice mild bruising or swelling in the treatment area.
  • You can expect temporary soreness or tenderness, minor aching, and tingling after the procedure.
  • Shockwave therapy can be an ideal solution to your various chronic issues. Shockwave therapy can treat the back, shoulder, elbow, hip, and leg. If you are suffering from strains, sprains, pain in your muscles, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, then you should visit our clinic!
